My name is Margaret and I have my own Alexander Technique Studio within walking distance from the Ringwood Railway Station. Teaching the Alexander Technique is my full time profession and lessons are by appointment only. A lesson takes around 45 minutes and the cost is $55.

I was fully qualified thirteen years ago under a STAT (Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique, England) approved school which was a one-off school for musicians only, held at Melbourne University. This was a three year full time training course. I am also a member of AUSTAT (Australian branch).

Although coming from a musical background, I am now working not only with musicians but with anyone who wishes to take responsibility for their well being. People come to me to improve their use of themselves whether it be because of pain or because they want to be more efficient in what they do.

The Alexander Technique is exciting and I believe I learn as much from my students as they do from me. This work never stagnates, it is always progressing in a positive way.

If you are sick and tired of getting back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, heel pain, thumb pain, etc., etc., then perhaps you need to look at the underlining cause. If you are getting 'fixed' but going out the door to use yourself in exactly the same way, then it is not surprising that the pain comes back again and again. You need to work at the source of the problem.

If you wish to do a top job in your work or hobby then you again need to look at HOW you use yourself. Good use reflects in all you do and the benefits are enormous.

Come and have one lesson - a lesson in which questions you have can be answered, a lesson which will give you your own unique experience as to what it is all about. Then you will be able to make a more informed choice as to whether you can work with this technique or not.

Like all things this may not be for you, or I may not be the right teacher for you. However coming to me is a very good starting point and the decision of whether to keep going is yours completely. You are really the only person who can be responsible for yourself and your own welfare.
